this is the appropriate time for the disclaimer that i am a total hater when it comes to the political actions that take place, and when i heard that adbusters, that weird weird phenomenon that i’m always surprised still exists, was behind the september 17th descent upon wall street, i mostly just rolled my eyes and muttered to myself, we’ll see how that goes…

but we must forgive imperfect beginnings… the arab spring began in tunisia with a man declaring harassment on the part of a (specifically) female authority to be the final straw.

his declaration, though, is echoed (in various frequencies of problematic) by the protests that have taken and continue to take place… “how do you expect me to make a living?” a plea so vague but so visceral that it can only be answered by those who make its very satisfaction impossible or dismissed by those content to continue in the same delusion that an honest living is possible.

everyone else can only offer a sympathetic exasperation.

this is why the endurance and magnitude of the new york protests and the proliferation of protests across the country, having no set agendas and no specific demands, have resonated with so many.

people are just fucking done.
